Micro Shading

Also known as Ombre Brows, is the perfect choice for those who want to just wake up and go. Think about it: for 2–3 years, you wouldn’t have to worry about your brows.

About
Micro-Shading

This semi-permanent makeup technique is similar to micro-blading, but, unlike micro-blading, it offers the eyebrows a fuller and softer and show-stopping appearance. This procedure is done using an electric hand tool with a round needle, which inserts the pigment into the epidermis (top layer of the skin). Once the brows heal, you will have powdered and filled brows, similar to the brows you will get when you apply makeup or fill in your brows with a pencil. Our signature soft, misty fronts create a natural and subtle look. This method suits everyone with any kind of skin type.

YOU SHOULD AVOID MICRO-SHADING IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

  • Prone to Keloid skin as well as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

  • Pregnant / breastfeeding.

  • Transmittable blood diseases such as HIV or Hepatitis

  • Any skin conditions surrounding the eyebrows (rash, psoriasis, dermatitis, shingles, measles, eczema, sores, and so on)

  • Under the age of 18

  • Chemotherapy

  • Pacemaker/heart problems

  • Organ transplant

  • Epilepsy

  • Low immune system in general

  • Consult with your doctor and discontinue the use of any facial medication or products on the forehead/brow area for at least 30 days prior to the procedure. Examples: Retinol/Vitamin A, Accutane, Rentin-A

  • Liver disease (high risk for infection)

  • Eye-lift or blepharoplasty (wait 3 months)

  • Healing disorders

  • Allergic especially to makeup, dye makeup

A DOCTOR’S NOTE IS REQUIRED IF YOU:

  • Are taking blood thinner medications. Anticoagulant medication must be stopped 10 days prior to the procedure and up to 2 weeks post-procedure for optimal results.

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy/radiation, although this procedure is great for restoring eyebrows

  • Had facial dermal fillers in that area

  • Have any hemorrhagic disorders

  • Have diabetes type 1 and 2

  • Have high blood pressure

  • Have any auto-immune disease

  • Have any thyroid/graves' disease

01

 Does the procedure hurt?

Minimal pain and discomfort comparable to threading or waxing of pain level 4-5; while others report feeling barely any pain at all. The amount of pain will depend on the client's pain tolerance and their body's reaction to the anesthetic. We use two types of extremely effective topical anesthetic. We always do our best to ensure your comfort.

02

How long does the procedure take?

Please clear your schedule. The appointment can take 2–3 hours. This is not a rushed procedure, and we ensure that ample time is allotted.

03

Should I book during my menstrual cycle?

NO!!  Avoid booking during your menstrual cycle as this may augment your pain.

04

How long will my brows last?

Your brows can last up to 3 years with a yearly touch-up. The cosmetic tattoo will begin to fade over time. The longevity of your brows will depend on many factors: skin type, lifestyle (sun exposure) and treatment of skin (dermabrasion, chemical peels, and so on).

05

Is a touch-up required for everyone?

Yes.

06

Will my brows be very dark after the procedure?

Yes. Most brows will appear darker and larger, but you don’t have to worry: it is part of the healing process. Your brows will heal and become 30–50% lighter and 10–20 % smaller.

07

How long does it take to heal?

It takes about 30 days for most clients.

08

When should I get a touch-up?

4–6 weeks.

09

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

We prefer that you not wear makeup. It will have to be removed anyway.

10

What if I don’t like it?

Although microshading is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do allow flexibility for color/shape change to some extent. We will work closely together to ensure the chosen shape and color compliments your unique features. Your opinion is highly valued during the entire process to help minimize room for error, and we will only proceed after your approval. If you end up not liking the result, the touch-up schedule will be canceled, and the treated area will naturally fade over time. If you are unsure about the procedure, we recommend that you opt for a more temporary option.

11

Is it true to not book my appointment during my menstrual cycle?

Yes, very true. The body can be more sensitive during this time, and this could make the procedure more painful for you.

12

Do I need to wax, tweeze or thread my brows before the appointment?

No. We can clean up your brows after we've decided on the shape and before we start the procedure.
