How Long Will A Full Set Of Eyelash Extensions Last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of your eyelashes natural growth cycle. Everyone’s individual experience will differ based on day to day activities but overall touch ups should only be required every 2-4 weeks. A special waterproof bonding agent is used to protect and extend the life of the lashes.
How Often Should I Get Touch Ups?
Your natural eyelashes fall off every 60-120 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as rubbing your eyes or exposure to steam may cause the extensions to fall out sooner. A touch up is needed to fill in any lashes that have fallen out and to fill in on the new growth. You lose 1-5 lash extension per day. Touch ups will be on each individual and depend on your natural eyelash cycle and how well you take care of your extended lashes. Most touch ups are between 2-4 weeks. When you come in for a regular touch up you should have at least 50% of your lash extensions still attached. If you wait too long, many of your extensions may fall off and you will need to have the full set re-applied.
Can I Swim, Shower, Exercise or Visit a Spa While Wearing Eyelash Extensions?
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise, etc. special care is required but overall maintenance is low.
However, do not wash your eye area for the first 24 hours after each application.
You can enjoy these eyelashes with little need to adjust your lifestyle. Provided you follow the simple after care instructions and are not excessively exposed to heat or moisture, they will last through your natural lash cycle and fall off with the natural lash, not before. You can swim, shower and spa as usual so long as these activities are not engaged in excessively. (Please do not swim or spa for 48-hours after the procedure to allow the adhesive to fully bond.)
Can I Use Eyelash Curlers With Eyelash Extensions?
It is not recommended to use a mechanical curler on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly break your own natural lashes. The extensions have a natural curl but if more of a curl is required we recommend using a heated eyelash curler.
Is The Product FDA Approved And Is It Safe?
The FDA is not currently regulating eyelash extensions since they are applied to the natural eyelashes and do not touch the skin. The application process is pain-free and relaxing. Most clients fall asleep during the procedure. Always be sure you are using a certified eyelash extension specialist.
How Long Will It Take To Apply Eyelash Extensions And How Is It Done?
The initial application process normally takes up to 2 hours. You will lay comfortably on a massage/facial table with your eyes closed. The eyelash professional will then apply tape or an under eye gel pad to cover your lower lashes. The extensions will then be applied to each individual eyelash.
